The smart water detector – Grohe Sense und Grohe Sense Guard
GROHE SENSE & GROHE SENSE GUARD - THE SMART OBSERVER IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD
Who does not know that? The washing machine is turned on and you go shopping or do other things while the laundry is washing. But it is not uncommon that washing machines not just wash your laundry, but even flood the complete room.
Instead of hanging laundry, you now have to dry the room, clean and minimize the damage. Less common - but even more fatal - it is when it comes to a burst pipe. If you do not react directly, the damage is very big. This is not only annoying, but also very expensive.
Thanks to the smart technology, the Grohe Sense and Grohe Sense Guard water sensors takes you one step further towards the future and improves your safety - because you can react before serious damage occurs.
GROHE SENSE - IN TEN MINUTES FROM ANALOG UNSAFE TO SMART SAFETY
Our houses increasingly network with the digital world. What is the advantage of this? More safety and comfort, especially in the bathroom and other areas where wetness or moisture is an issue. With the water detector Grohe Sense new standards are set in terms of protection. The water detector is operated with extra-long-lasting batteries and, in addition to its elegant design and its size, ensures an optimal concept of design and functionality.
As soon as moisture or wetness occurs, you will be notified by a beep. Via Wi-Fi, the water detector can also send you a push message, SMS or e-mail to your smartphone, so that no time is lost and you can act immediately. If you are on vacation or you want several people to receive a message, you can also set this option.
How it works? Quite simply: The Grohe Sense water detectors have two gold-plated pins on the underside, which, as soon as they come into contact with water, cause a short circuit and thus an alarm. A message will be sent directly to your smartphone. In principle quite simple, as well as the handling of the water detector.
Grohe Sense is installed in less than ten minutes. Simply place the water detector in the spot where it can come to a water damage, download the Grohe Ondus app (in the App Store or Google Playstore), then register and follow the instructions of the app. The mounting place in your house or flat does not matter. With the water detector you can reach every place, like under the washing machine or in the attic.
With its smart technology, the Grohe Sense Water Alarm warns you against:
extremely low temperatures
But in addition to the alarm function, you can also use the sensor via the Grohe Ondus app as a source of information about temperature and humidity in your household.
GROHE SENSE+ - FOR THE REMOTE AREAS IN THE HOUSE
There are places in our houses and apartments that we do not visit regularly. And sometimes it is the houses themselves, for example, a holiday home, which cannot be monitored continuously. Whether cellar or holiday home, with the mains powered Grohe Sense+ you also have control over the darkest corners. Daily up-to-date humidity and temperature data or a warning message when it comes to leaking moisture - the water detector keeps you up to date.
GROHE SENSE GUARD - PROTECTS YOU, EVEN BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENED
It's better to swim in money than in a flooded house. In 54% of all houses, however, this sentence is not true, because there was already water damage and thus at enormous cost. 28% of all water damage is the result of leaking pipes. What starts as a small drop of water can eventually lead to a water-soaked wall or a sodden floor. With Grohe Sense Guard you can minimize your risk here. But not only the big damages cause unnecessary costs. Because a leaking or defective pipe or a leaking faucet, which gives a drop of water per second, makes in the year 11,000 liters of water or 180 times showers. With the Grohe Sense Guard, even the smallest water losses are registered and reported to you.
As with Grohe Sense, you also have a personal on-site watcher with Grohe Sense Guard, who will not only alert you to leaking water, but also to possible frost. You can specify and set upper and lower limits yourself so that you can see perfectly matched and optimal values in the app and react by switching off the water. If it comes to disturbances of the WLAN, the Grohe Sense Guard works nevertheless and turns off the water automatically in case of an emergency. This means that water damage and frozen pipes are past and you take another smart step towards a secure future.
The functions of the Grohe Sense Guard at a glance:
recognizes and informs about pipe breaks
recognizes and informs about the smallest leaks and unusual consumption patterns
recognizes and informs about danger of frost
can turn off the water supply (manual or automatic)

Turn on the Grohe Sense Guard and make a Wi-Fi connection to gain access to the water detector. Select the Grohe Sense Guard SSID and enter the password located on the back of the device.
If it comes to interference of the WLAN, for example, because in the basement is no strong or a fluctuating reception, so use a repeater, which amplifies the wireless signal. As a second alternative, you can also use a UTP connection. The third option would be to use the Internet via a power cable. You use one connection near the router and another connection near the water detector.
